The Price of Success

In any engagement, your client pays a price for your work. Your price is labor — theirs is and money.

So, the first task for a any well meaning marketer is to find out what success means to the client.

Often it’s helping them find more of their best customers. Or, perhaps they just need clarity or a strategy around how and who they serve so they can better communicate their value offer.

Whatever the case, they are paying you for an outcome, not time or effort.

The price of success for you is to determine and deliver that optimal outcome and keep it front and center throughout the engagement.

How effectively you uncover and execute on that is what will determine whether the client sees you as an investment or an expense.
